Groups & Home-based Program
RSVP volunteers work in groups and individually on projects for public and private non-profit organizations (i.e., preparing bulk mailings, updating records, or addressing envelopes). Volunteers may also sew items or knit and crochet mittens, blankets, and hats for children and adults.
Seniors Volunteering for Seniors Program
RSVP volunteers provide assisted transportation, phone assurance, and friendly visitation to fellow seniors to help them remain independent, as well as provide opportunities for increased socialization and support. Volunteers receive mileage reimbursement and supplemental liability auto insurance. Monthly meetings provide volunteers with an opportunity to network with other volunteers and receive information on subjects pertinent to the senior population.
Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) & Intergenerational
RSVP volunteers provide youth in local schools with mentorship and guidance related to basic life skills. They also tutor students in math and literacy. During the summer months, RSVP pursues opportunities to partner with summer-based programs. Income-eligible volunteers may qualify for an hourly stipend, mileage reimbursement, and meal reimbursement.
America Reads offers older adults an opportunity to help elementary students with reading.
BABES provides 2nd and 3rd grade students with education related to peer pressure, bullying, self-image, drugs and alcohol, decision making, and more.
